Dining Companions part six

Dsc00063

Our last meal on the train had us sat backwards (I coped) with two blokes in their late 40s who were travelling with their families, but eating alone. One guy was concerned as his son was ill on the train. The other asked us lots of questions about the TV shows he watched. Such as 'The Good Life', 'Fawlty Towers' and 'Keeping up appearances'. I asked him whether he got anything produced after the mid 80s and asserted that it must take a long time for the transmission to reach LA. He also asked 'Scottish Parliament - what's with that?' and we talked a lot about travelling including our experiences of cheapass airlines. He was by far the loveliest dining companion of the trip.

But even he told us what to see in SF and his mate went one further by finding out the baseball game fixtures for us, even though we didn't ask and didn't show any interest in it.
